Year 5 2018 - 2019

Mrs Davies

Welcome to Year 5

Dear Year 4 – soon to be Year 5,

Thank you for a fabulous three days last week. I was very impressed by your enthusiasm and maturity.

Just to keep your skills fresh over the holidays you may want to complete some or all of the activities below?

Try to read at least four books over the holidays. If you have the opportunity, you could complete the library challenge and win a medal and certificate.

You could send a postcard to school if you visit somewhere interesting. You could also write a holiday diary about all the great things you do during the summer, add leaflets and photos to make it colourful!

Practise your times tables to make sure you are able to recall them quickly. There are different Apps and games available. You can use the general resources on Mymaths and also Topsmarks Maths on the internet to practise your maths calculations too. Remember to do plenty of practical maths like baking, budgeting while shopping and looking for patterns.

I  look forward to seeing any of your holiday tasks in school when we come back in September and will happily reward with dojo points.

Have a lovely summer and stay safe!

Mrs Davies
