Hello and welcome to Brambles! We are so excited for the year ahead and look forward to achieving lots of wonderful things together and celebrating your children. Please see the class pages and attached files for more information. If you have any questions then please do get in touch
Reading
Please read with your child throughout the week and log this in their homework diary. Where possible please also try to ask children questions about the text they are reading in order to practise their comprehension skills as well as their verbal reading. Reading books will be changed on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, once children have read at home.
Homework
Homework will be given every Friday in your child's homework book, and should be completed by the following Thursday. This includes spellings which should be practiced throughout the week at home.
Supporting your children with number bonds to 10 (e.g, 4+6=20) and 20 (e.g 14+6=20) at home is essential in ensuring your child understands particular aspects of their work fully. We are also trying to encourage the correct use of the English language while in conversation, e.g 'I did my homework' instead of 'I done my homework' - this will help with spelling and grammar in writing.
PE
This term, PE will be on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit in school and they have suitable clothing for both indoor and outdoor PE lessons.
If you find you have any issues with home reading or homework, or want to know further information regarding reading and spelling/phonics levels please do contact me.
Thank you!
